For this project completed in Lefaivre, Ontario, we handled a complete restoration of a log home. The scope included blasting to strip the wood back to bare, applying new exterior stain, and redoing the insulation with chinking. The goal was to restore the home’s appearance while improving its protection, sealing, and long-term comfort.
For this log home located in Lefaivre, we completed full exterior restoration work and joint repair.
The project began with blasting the surfaces to remove the old finish, weathered areas, and accumulated residue over time. This step allows starting from a clean base before applying new stain. Once the wood was properly prepared, we applied exterior stain to revive its appearance and better protect it against moisture, UV rays, and temperature variations.
We also redid the insulation with chinking between the logs. Over time, joints can crack, open up, or let air through. By properly restoring them, we improve the home’s sealing while preserving the natural character of the round wood.
If your log home is starting to lose its finish or the joints are no longer sealed, a complete restoration can really make a significant difference.
